《Controlling Crowds》中介紹Archive樂隊於1994年，由倫敦的DJ Darius Keeler和Danny Griffiths組建，以trip-hop和電子風格為開端，最開始，他們將Bristol的trip hop與rap混音。之後，每張專輯都有不同的合作人。
《Controlling Crowds》中介紹雖然Archive是英國樂隊，很多評論說他們實際上離英國樂隊共有的氣質甚遠，反而沾染上不少法國派的矯柔造作。 Archive樂隊最先被人歸為Trip-Hop，後來又被歸入post-rock，看似風格多變實則很簡單－－他們比較追求錄音室的效果。
