《羅馬霸權：凱撒崛起》的游戲背景設定在古代高盧平原和森林地區，總督朱利亞斯?凱撒發起一場十年戰爭，征服頻繁威脅羅馬城的野蠻人部落，為他的政治野心建立起一個強權基礎。開發商稱該作升級了圖形引擎，其戰爭場面較前作有了很大提升，同時開發商還自信新作能給玩家帶來無比真實的策略戰爭體驗，游戲裡玩家甚至需要根據季節的變化來調整軍隊部署。
Kalypso工作室宣布，《霸權：古希臘戰爭》的續作，《羅馬霸權：凱撒崛起》將於2014年春季發售，售價19.99美元。
該作將對玩家的戰場策略提出挑戰，玩家必須在公元前一世紀的史詩戰場上指揮千軍萬馬。從地中海到不列顛，一百多萬平方公裡的廣闊地域無縫連接，無縫縮放，任憑玩家探索征服。建造系統允許玩家建設要塞，城牆，橋梁等設施，在線羅馬帝國往日榮光。
