EA旗下Visceral Games今日正式宣布恐怖求生游戲續作《死亡空間2》（Dead Space 2），游戲預定將在 PC、PS3、Xbox 360 平台推出，發售日期未正式公布。
游戲主角伊薩克．克拉克（Isaac Clarke）將再次在《死亡空間2》世界登場，他將運用他的電離子切割機與其他更多的新道具，想辦法從名為 Necromorphs 恐怖怪物包圍中殺出血路。另外，新作中將會出現輔助伊薩克．克拉克的新角色。Visceral Games 游戲執行制作人 Steve Papoutsis 承諾新游戲除了會增加更多、更恐怖的 Necromorphs 外，還將會有更曲折更豐富的故事情節。
美商藝電資深副總 Nick Earl 表示，我們就像全球眾多的玩家般熱愛《死亡空間》系列，且非常興奮地向大家宣布此系列的新作。
跨平台恐怖求生游戲《死亡空間》一代為限制級游戲，游戲故事背景發生在一艘巨大的采礦船石村號（USG Ishimura），在遙遠的外太空星系巧遇神秘的外星制品，卻原因不明地與地球失去聯系。工程師伊薩克．克拉克（Isaac Clarke）奉命修理石村號的通訊系統，結果整艘船成了漂浮的血池，船員遭到虐殺，還感染了古老的外星病毒，克拉克不只得為了拯救自己而戰，還得想辦法將外星制品送回行星。
《死亡空間》系列也於今年 9、10 月分別在各地推出前傳《死亡空間：血統》（Dead Space Extraction） ，為 Wii 平台作品。
Steve Papoutsis 表示，在《死亡空間2》中，疫情持續蔓延，主角伊薩克．克拉克將是唯一能控制疫情的英雄，但仍將面對遭 Necromorphs 殺害的威脅。二代中並非每件事會像眼睛所見一樣就是事實，玩家可以期待曲折的游戲情節，將帶來極大的驚奇，且有大量的扭曲、惡心的怪物，將會嚇你一大跳。

Engineer Isaac  Clarke returns  for another  blood-curdling adventure  in Dead
