如果你是Half-Life 2的愛好者，應該會玩過一款叫Iron Grip : The Oppression的模組，是的，這款游戲與Iron Grip : The Oppression背景相同。而Iron Grip: Warlord不同於Iron Grip : The Oppression那樣采用1VSN強調玩家間的對抗。Warlord簡化原來的RTS部分，容入了COOP元素，更強調的是玩家間的協助作戰。在 Warlord DEMO中，玩家們只允許加入到一個防御陣營，協同對抗一個由AI操控的強大軍團。AI會不定時發動一個波次進攻，玩家們必須在進攻路線上建造防御設施抵御AI侵襲，或者是購買威力強大的武器與AI進行快節奏的游擊戰，游戲目標很簡單，保護地圖上一個幢主要建築物不被AI摧毀，同時豪盡AI的兵力，即可獲勝。

   As a Warlord, you must use all of your skill to defend your city
