Autodesk Impression 主要是為 DWG 與 DWF 檔案格式著色，完全支援 AutoCAD。例如在 AutoCAD 完成 2D 線圖繪製，直接轉換至 Impression 裡面，輕輕鬆鬆指定圖層作業模式，以拖拉方式進行，即可完成著色工作，並且有多種樣式筆刷可供選擇，例如麥克筆、色鉛筆等，讓以往一張平面圖或者工程圖要耗時又費力的著色工作，一下子便可完成，並且畫錯了還可任意修改。
