Autodesk公司近日宣布今年四月份正式發布其3ds Max軟體的最新版本3ds Max 2011，新版軟體的售價定為3495美元，軟體的升級價則為1745美元。
新版3ds Max 2011將加入以下幾項新功能：
★新增Slate工具：這是一種新的基於節點的材質編輯器，使用者可以更加方便地編輯材質。
★Quicksilver硬體渲染引擎：新款多執行緒渲染引擎，可以利用CPU和GPU來為繪圖場景提供渲染加速，速度要比舊款引擎提升10倍左右。
★新增能讓用戶在viewport視窗直接觀察紋理及材質貼圖效果的功能，用戶無需為了挑選合適的紋理或材質貼圖而反復渲染。
★新增3ds Max Composite合成貼圖工具：新的3ds Max Composite合成貼圖工具，可支援動態高光（HDR）等特效。
Autodesk數字娛樂部門副總裁Stig Gruman表示：「我們推出3ds Max 2011的首要目標是要提升使用者日常創作工作的效率。我們對3ds Max 2011的核心元件進行了重新設計，推出了以節點為基礎的材質編輯器工具，並加入了包括Quicksilver硬體渲染等許多新功能，在3ds Max 2011的幫助下，3D創作者將能在更短的時間內創作出更高品質的3D作品。」
