SU Podium是照片級渲染器，並且作為插件整合進SketchUp Pro 5 /6或Google SketchUp （僅windows版），可以簡稱為Podium。 Podium完全在SketchUp內運行，並使用SketchUp的表面、紋理、視圖、背景和陰影產生照片般的圖像。與SketchUp群組同樣兼容。任何熟悉SketchUp建模的人都會發現Podium極為易用，而且並不需要學習復雜的渲染技術。 Podium采用SU一貫的簡潔使用界面。界面裡主要的2個選項就是決定每個表面的光影和反射的數值
那麼SU Podium是如何如何工作的呢?
1． 點擊選擇Su內模型的任意表面
2． 高亮顯示後通過Podium 界面拖動滑動條賦予反射數值
3． 指定紋理
4． 渲染並檢查預覽圖 Podium 通過模擬每一個Su表面的光反射渲染你的Su場景。
默認使用天空光源。通過調整表面的光反射數值，能夠創造生動的渲染結果。另外，通過指定顏色或紋理，圖像會更逼真。
通過改變Su的背景色或陰影你同樣可以改變光影效果。例如，可以使用較暗的背景色創造夜晚景象。也可以選擇是否運用SU的陰影來創造不同效果。對於室內設計， Podium也提供泛光燈以進一步產生真實的圖像。
另一個重點是自發光或者說燈效特性。這個特性在界面顯示為燈光。一旦指定給表面，燈效就創建出獨立的光源。例如，你想要創造一片熒光幕或電視牆的效果並照亮房間。指定給表面的光值將模擬光源照明，並且被有反射屬性的表面正確的反射。 Podium使用全局光照明和光線追蹤創造照片級圖像。光線追蹤計算被SU表面物體吸收或反射的光線路徑。GI 是一種不僅計算光源直接照射（如天空光），還計算經過場景中別的物體反射以後輻射光照的算法。如需更多局光照明和光線追蹤的信息！
