引用 3DMark Vantage是業界第一套專門基於微軟DX10 API打造的綜合性基准測試工具，並能全面發揮多路顯卡、多核心處理器的優勢，能在當前和未來一段時間內滿足PC系統游戲性能測試需求。和PCMark Vantage一樣，新3DMark也改變了命名方式，不再以年份做結尾，而是同樣使用了一個意為“優勢”的單詞。不知道這是不是受了Windows Vista的啟示，但很顯然，苦心磨砺的3DMark Vantage必將帶來全新的體驗，掀起新一輪的處理器、顯卡“拷問”之旅，並進一步鞏固Futuremark在業界的領導地位。和3DMark05的DX9專用性質類似，3DMark Vantage是專門為DX10顯卡量身打造的，而且只能運行在Windows Vista 操作系統下。（XP 用戶就無法享受了~ 用 06 吧。）它包括兩個圖形測試項目、兩個處理器測試項目、六個特性測試項目。圖形和處理器測試項目都是全新制作的，其中前者借助DX10顯卡的新技術和高性能打造了絢麗逼真的視覺特效，後者還特別加入了對人工智能(AI)和物理加速的專門測試。3DMark Vantage的另一個全新特性是引入了四種不同等級的參數預設(Preset)。此前的3DMark在得出最終結果的時候都只有一個簡單的分數，而3DMark Vantage按照畫質等級劃分成了入門級(Entry，E)、性能級(Performance，P)、高端級(High，H)、極限級(Extreme，X)四類，得分表達方式也改成了字母加數字的組合形式，從而更細致地反映系統性能等級，可以更對位、更公平地進行比較。當然，不同等級之間的分數沒有可比性。

引用 3DMark Vantage作為DX10圖形性能測試軟件，自然僅支持vista操作系統，其主界面也是煥然一新，和vista的Aero效果融為一體。界面雖然華麗許多但依舊簡潔明了。

這是圖形測試設置項目，除了分辨率、抗鋸齒、各向異性過濾這些傳統的選項之外，3DMark首次允許降低畫質進行測試——現在能夠像實際游戲那樣手動更改紋理、陰影、光照的品質。看來DX10游戲對於顯卡的要求實在太恐怖，高端顯卡跑起來都磕磕碰碰，低端顯卡只跑一兩幀的話測試就沒有多少實際意義了，因此使用中、低等畫質測試中低端顯卡應該是很好的選擇。

同3DMark06一樣，3DMark Vantage也包括了兩項CPU測試項目，分別偏重於AI運算和物理運算。而且，細心的讀者應該可以發現3DMark Vantage可以支持AGEIA的PPU進行物理加速（也可以關閉），因為歷代3DMark的物理加速引擎都是AGEIA的PhysX引擎。
